BlackBerry Mobile Ban in Saudi Arabia?

Yesterday my friend informed me that they can not send and receive mail messages from their BlackBerry phone. Telecommunication regulator confirmed that effective today, August 6, Saudi Arabia enforce ban Messenger testing message service.

"(The ban) is only for the Messenger. Negotiations are still going on, the deadline is final," said Sultan Al-Malik from the Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC).

Meanwhile UAE  (United Arab Emirates), which plans a ban on BlackBerry Messenger, e-mail and Web browser services from October, said RIM is flouting its regulations.

The move is based on the security concern.

    Kahit dito sa Kuwait, I heard they are thinking of putting a ban on Blackberry dahil wala siyang restrictions sa mga pornographic sites. But I think Blackberry is now trying to remedy it.
