Perfect Marriage?

Perfect Marriage?

Do you believe in perfect marriage or happily ever after. There is no such perfect in this world. It is our desire on how we attain that perfect marriage. Here's an inspirational article by Rick Warren that can describe what is a perfect marriage.

Biblical Marriage - Love God and Love Your Spouse
by Rick Warren

"Teacher," he asked, "which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus answered, "'Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.' This is the greatest and the most important commandment. The second most important commandment is like it: 'Love your neighbor as you love yourself.' Matthew 22:36-39 (TEV)

Prophet of Purpose: The Life of Rick WarrenAny successful marriage is built upon the biblical truth that God designed each of us with five purposes in mind: worship, fellowship, discipleship, ministry, and missions. I suppose you'd expect a man who's been married over 30 years to a beautiful, intelligent woman would be able to share with you the intimate secrets to having a perfect marriage. But I'm going to disappoint you! That's because Kay and I don't have a perfect marriage. She is without a doubt my best friend, and we have a wonderful relationship -- but as far as a perfect marriage, well, there's no such thing. What Kay and I do have is a marriage centered on Christ, specifically focused on glorifying God. We remain committed to each other because we remain committed to Christ and his work within us. Jesus said the greatest commandment is to "love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind." The he added, "The second most important commandment is like it: 'Love your [spouse] as you love yourself.'" (Matthew 22:37, 39, TEV) In this sense, you worship God when you love and sacrifice for your spouse. That brings pleasure to God, and any time you give pleasure to God, you're worshiping him. Read through Romans 12 with a view of what its applications would mean to your marriage: "Love each other with genuine affection, and take delight in honoring each other." (Romans 12:10, NLT)

Personally, there is no perfect marriage between two human couples and there is no such 100% compatibility because each person is created by God as distinct and unique.

With my 20 years of married life, despite our weaknesses and strength, our human differences and similarities in life, we were able live to the fullest of our married life - full of love, joy and happiness, this was made possible by putting God in the center of our relationship.

A blessed weekend to you.

George- most of the couple ay affected ang relationship nila kapag di ma meet ang perfect marriage. they focus only in their differences but not what make them to be perfect. what keep our relationship stronger is the binding of God's love. thank bro for the nice comment!

In my own opinion, wala talagang perfect marriage. Me and my wife still have a long way before namin ma-reach mga married life nyo (5 yrs pa lang kami). God was always the center of my relationship with my wife even before our marriage.

Perfecting marriage means adding more pressure to your marriage. That pressure will eventually test each weak points your marriage has. If the marriage is founded by wealth, and if wealth is gone - of course marriage is gone as well.

A marriage founded by Love looks more better but it isn't because sometimes in a marriage there is a fall out of love which in most cases do happen. Instead of finding the lost love inside marriage they search outside marriage.

But a marriage founded by God and making God its center will surely make a relationship grow stronger. As a husband, I made it a point that before we have a talk about a very serious or sensitive matter, we pray. We ask his presence in the midst of us. That way, we can be as calm as possible. And when both of you are calm, you can both think properly. We pray again after we have agreed on what to do, kiss, hug and me merry.

God bless.

Drake- ang mahalaga ay kung ano ang naging applicable sa atin ang kanyang naishare. although ibat-iba ang ating belief. ingat din bro

Noel- you really have a long way to go. kami ni George we are almost long way. Mahalagatalaga na mayroon tayo God na nasa pagitan ng ating marriage. di mareresolve ang problema kung pareho mataas ang kilay at boses.

Nobody's perfect and there's no such thing as perfect except the word itself. God created us unique kaya mayroon tayong mga differences, with these differences hindi talaga magiging perfect ang pagsasama kahit na mag-asawa pa.

Nice thoughts and nice post. Have a great weekend.

Wow! ang lalim naman ng comments.... LOL... Hi life... I've been married for eleven years pa lang ... ano bang ibig sabihin pag sinabi mung perfect marriage?

stable financially?
walang selosan?
no fighting over petty things?
Conflict of interest?

wala akong picture of a perfect marriage I only have a picture of a perfect friendship with my husband .... in fact I only use my married name on legal matters ... and it's fine...

anyway ... we all have different realities thus we all have different views about things ....

pero meron akong beautiful badge para sa yo sa blog ko ...

That's exactly what my parents always tell us since we were young and we saw that through their marriage. If the Lord God haven't been the center of their marriage, I don't know if I am here today. They could have been ruined as a couple and focused on self-centeredness.
