How to Deal With Anger

How to Deal With Anger - Here Are 4 Quick Tips

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Quincy_Barrett]Quincy Barrett

You're not just disappointed, you're angry. Angry because getting home in rush hour traffic took longer than usual. Angry because people are driving too slow and you're trying to hurry home.

Angry because one of your children spilled juice on the carpet that you just had professionally steam cleaned two weeks ago. Angry because you got passed over for that promotion that you thought was in the bag for you.

Anger is a very powerful feeling. Just the emotion on a person's face when they're in that frame of mind can scare someone. If you don't learn how to deal with anger properly, it can take its toll on your health, relationships, employment and anything else that is affected by it.

There are different ways that this potentially explosive emotion can be channeled into something positive:

* Being calm and stabilized -- When your emotions start to rise up, you need to bring them down immediately. Being calm and stabilizing your emotions can help clear your head.

You can do that by listening to some soft music, such as jazz. Or find something to do that doesn't involve a lot of noise, such as reading a book or a magazine. Also, doing mediation or yoga can help you calm your mind.

* Being active -- Incorporating some type of physical activity, whether it's exercise or just moving around, can help relieve the steam that is built up inside of you. Getting worked up does nothing for you but initiate health problems, such as high blood pressure.

Exercising can help you to release the stress and frustration you'll feeling. This is usually where the fruit of anger begins. Getting involved in swimming, running or walking can set you back on the path of good health.

* Step Away -- If you are involved in a confrontation with someone, it's easy to get agitated and stirred up. In this case, learning how to deal with anger means to step away from the situation.

Staying in it or around it does nothing but make matters worse, including inflaming your anger even more. In this case, you can also engage in physical activity (see the previous tip) or count to 10 backwards and release it.

* Laughing -- This is definitely a good way to release your anger. Think of something that happened that's amusing. Or find a comedy show or movie to watch. Comedy can be funny and you get to laugh right along with it. If you like jokes, get a joke book and read from it.
These are just a few of the solutions you can use in learning how to deal with your anger. People won't be afraid to come around you. You won't have to concern yourself with always being out of work because you can't control your emotions.

If you deal with it now, you can have a happy and healthy life for years to come.

SPECIALGROCERY LIST

Louise Redden, a poorly dressed lady with a look of defeat on her face, walked into a grocery store.
She approached the owner of the store in a most humble manner and asked if he would let her charge a few groceries. She softly explained that her husband was very ill and unable to work, they had seven children and they needed food.John Longhouse, the grocer, scoffed at her and requested that she leave his store at once.

Visualizing the family needs, she said: 'Please, sir! I will bring you the money just assoon as I can.'John told her he could not give her credit, since she did not have a charge account at his store. Standing beside the counter was a customer who overheard the conversation between the two. The customer walked forward and told the grocer that he would stand good for whatever she needed for her family. The grocer said in a very reluctant voice, 'Do you have a grocery list?' Louise replied, 'Yes sir.' 'O.K' he said, 'put your grocery list on the scales and whatever your grocery list weighs, I will give you that amount in groceries.'Louise, hesitated a moment with a bowed head, then she reached into her purse and took out a piece of paper and scribbled something on it. She then laid the piece of paper on the scale carefully with her head still bowed. The eyes of the grocer and the customer showed amazement when the scales went down and stayed down. The grocer, staring at the scales, turned slowly to the customer and said begrudgingly, 'I can't believe it.' The customer smiled and the grocer started putting the groceries on the other side of the scales.

The scale did not balance so he continued to put more and more groceries on them until the scales would hold no more. The grocer stood there in utter disgust. Finally, he grabbed the piece of paper from the scales and looked at it with greater amazement. It was not a grocery list, it was a prayer, which said:'Dear Lord, you know my needs and I am leaving this in your hands.' The grocer gave her the groceries that he had gathered and stood in stunned silence.Louise thanked him and left the store. The other customer handed a fifty-dollar bill to the grocer and said; 'It was worth every penny of it. Only God Knows how much a prayer weighs.'THE POWER OF PRAYER: When you receive this, say a prayer. That's all you have to do. Just stop right now, and say a prayer of thanks for your own good fortune. So dear heart, trust God to heal the sick, provide food for the hungry, clothes and shelter for those that don't have as we do.

Amen & AmenDon't break this, please!Prayer is one of the best free gifts we receive. There is no cost but a lot of rewards.May you always walk with Angels God Bless!

Stress Management Tips

Great Ideas to Manage Stress by Michael Lee

Getting stressed is a perfectly normal reaction if you have too many things coming at you at the same time. But always getting frazzled and cracking under pressure isn’t the way to handle it. You need to apply some stress management tips to toughen yourself up in the face of pressure and to keep yourself from breaking down.
One of the biggest causes of stress is the workplace. From worrying about job security, dealing with heavy workload, and going through the daily commute, your job carries with it a lot of pressure.
Studies have shown that stress can have a severe negative impact on your health and well-being. Heart problems are just one of the physical manifestations of the tension you feel. If you bring your stress home as well, it can also severely impact your personal relationships.
Before your life reaches this point due to stress, you must take action to keep it from happening. Instead of always resorting to dealing with stress negatively, there are other means for you to approach stress in a healthier way.

Here are a few stress management tips to help you overcome stress.

Stress Management Tip # 1: Take a break. Yes, that’s right. To be able to cope with stress better, you need to step away from what you’re doing and get your energy together. Working under pressure and completing your duties while you’re stressed will only wear you down and could also affect your performance. Removing yourself from a stressful situation, even for a brief moment, will help you breathe more easily and give you a fresh perspective.

Stress Management Tip # 2: Pamper yourself throughout the day. It doesn’t have to be anything elaborate and lengthy. You can do it by enjoying a hot soothing cup of herbal tea, particular ones with calming properties, or buy yourself a small massager to soothe your aches and pains.

Stress Management Tip # 3: Be organized. If you’re juggling too many things all at once, you tend to forget how to schedule your work properly. Make a list of everything you need to do, and then arrange them in order of urgency and when they need to be completed. This will help you stay focused on the things that need to be done right away instead of turning your attention to the ones that aren’t as urgent.

Stress Management Tip # 4: Say “no” to more responsibilities. You already have too much on your plate and not much time to work on them, which is why you’re getting frazzled and stressed. You don’t need more responsibilities. But don’t worry; this won’t make you look irresponsible and incapable. If you have a hard time saying “no” to extra work, simply think of all the work you need to do and the time you don’t have to accommodate more work.

Stress Management Tip # 5: Get help. You might want to talk to a friend or a loved one to help you vent out your frustrations or perhaps even distract you from what’s causing your stress. Acknowledge that you’re not capable of doing everything, and don’t be afraid to get help around the office too.
These stress management tips don’t sound too hard, do they? Once you get stress under control, you’ll be able to work more efficiently and then go on to enjoy a happy and fulfilling life.

What is Your Problem?

What is Your Problem?
By Bob Roach

Really, what is your problem? I mean do you wake up every morning like this or is today an exception? I run into people all day long that are miserable. And if I am not careful I could be just like them.
If you knew me you would soon realize that I am one of the happiest people on earth. Is that because I have been luckier in life than you? I do not think so. Well, yes I probably am better looking than you are, but that is not why I am so happy. I might have more money than you do, but that is not why I am so happy either. And there is a slight possibility that you are better looking than me, and an even greater chance that you have more money than I do.
I have a friend that went through life thinking that his wife was his biggest problem. He blamed her for his unhappiness. According to him, he just could not please her because she expected too much. Imagine that, a wife that had high expectations of her husband. She expected him to take her out at least once or twice a week. She expected him to go shopping with her. She generally expected him to be the answer to her life. He always complained that she should be able to entertain herself.
So what about you? What is your excuse? What is making you unhappy? It may be your wife, or your mother-in-law. Maybe it is that new boss you have. Maybe your husband does not pay enough attention to you. The simple truth is you need to identify exactly what it is that is actually making you unhappy.
Most unhappy people, if they told the truth, would tell you they are not happy with them selves. As soon as they realize that they are the problem.... Then they can start to solve the problem. The root of any problem must be discovered before one can consider solving the problem. Now that we realize that it is our own personality that is keeping us from being happy, we are on the way to find happiness.
When my friend discovered that it was his own personality that was causing his unhappiness, he began to heal just a bit. Now do not get me wrong. Finding true happiness is not easy and is a journey that will take work on your part. My friend started working on his own imperfections instead of thinking he could blame his unhappiness on his wifes' imperfection. Gradually such personality flaws as, being self-centered, were replaced by a caring heart for those around him. His sense of too much pride was replaced by a feeling of humbleness, realizing that what ever he was, was because of a power greater than he himself.
So what is your problem? You will have to be honest with yourself. Identify the problem and begin to join the masses of people who are living life by taking their own happiness into their own hands. Let go of the idea that you are only as happy as your friends and neighbors will permit you to be. Realize that the first step to your happiness is knowing that ultimately you are the problem. If you are not happy then it is you who must change.

Experience Fear With Today's Horror Movies

Experience Fear With Today's Horror Movies
By Tom Gibson

What is it about fear that so many of us find addictive? I'm not talking about healthy fears like keeping your hand out of the fire or you'll get burnt, or the general fears which keep safe from harm. No, what I'm talking about is the pleasure we get from voluntarily putting ourselves in from of a horror movie with the sole purpose of scaring the living daylights out of ourselves. Not only that, but it seems that the more fear we experience, the more enjoyment we get! Sounds like a bit of a contradiction that!

For the young lads having a sofa date with a new girlfriend, there is often and ulterior motive as they slide Freddy Krueger into the DVD player, in the vain hope that their new love will cuddle up to them for protection from the terror on the TV.

But naughtiness aside, I think with all the pressures that are put upon us as a modern society, what most folks find appealing in good ole horror movies, is an escape from reality. Ghosts, gore, demons, and monsters from the depths of hell, all do a pretty good job with this. It's often said that staying home is the new going out, and this has never been truer with all the fantastic home entertainment systems that adorn many a living room these days. Watching your horror movies on big screen TV's with stereo surround sound and crystal clear pictures, really does enhance the feelings of shock, fright, and severe panic.

It's a strange thing but I've only been to see one horror movie at the cinema in the last 5 years. Usually, when I go to the movie theatre, it's to watch action or sci-fi movies. Yet at home, I would imagine more than 50% of the films viewed are horror movies. Weird that! Hey, maybe it's because I feel safe in the house!

The great thing about internet shopping is the abundance of movies available online. It doesn't matter what title you want, whether it's the latest release or an old Christopher Lee Dracula movie, you're sure to find it on the word wide web.

The brief escape from reality, which horror movies bring us, means they will continue to be a popular choice in our viewing pleasure. It's not really necessary to analyze why we like horror, because half the fun of watching is the chance to just kick back and enjoy without using any brain power. We don't need to think, just watch through the fingers in front of our eyes. But be prepared and expect the unexpected, because you're gonna get scared, real scared, and we don’t want that, do we?
