"MANILA – The license holder and national director of Miss World Philippines said she is not surprised by the victory of Megan Young in the international pageant, citing the licensees’ first impressions of the Filipina beauty. Young was crowned Miss World 2013 during a culminating event in Bali, Indonesia on Saturday, making her the first Filipino winner of the title. In an interview on radio DZMM’s “Rated Korina” on Monday, Cory Quirino recalled how a number of Miss World licensees from other countries were awestruck by Young’s beauty to the point of admitting that she is, without a doubt, this year’s winner. “This is the first time na ang mga karibal natin sa ibang bansa ang lumapit sa akin noong dumating ako sa Bali at sinabi nila, ‘suko na kami sa kandidata niyo.’ Sabi nila ‘yan sa akin,” said Quirino, who has been a licensee of the Miss World Philippines pageant for the past three years."
