Sunday Gospel July 31 - Feeding the Five Thousand Matthew 14: 13-21

Sunday Gospel July 31 -  Feeding the Five Thousand Matthew 14: 13-21

Feeding the Five Thousand
Matthew 14: 13-21
English Version

13 Now when Jesus heard this, he withdrew from there in a boat to a deserted place by himself. But when the crowds heard it, they followed him on foot from the towns. 14When he went ashore, he saw a great crowd; and he had compassion for them and cured their sick. 15When it was evening, the disciples came to him and said, ‘This is a deserted place, and the hour is now late; send the crowds away so that they may go into the villages and buy food for themselves.’ 16Jesus said to them, ‘They need not go away; you give them something to eat.’ 17They replied, ‘We have nothing here but five loaves and two fish.’ 18And he said, ‘Bring them here to me.’ 19Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven, and blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. 20And all ate and were filled; and they took up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full. 21And those who ate were about five thousand men, besides women and children. source

Ang Mahimalang Pagpapakain sa Limanlibo
Mateo 14:13

Sunday Gospel July 24 -Hidden Treasure & The Pearl

Sunday Gospel July 24 -Hidden Treasure & The Pearl
Matthew 13: 44-52

Parable of Hidden Treasure & The Pearl

44 ‘The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which someone found and hid; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. 45 ‘Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls; 46on finding one pearl of great value, he went and sold all that he had and bought it.

Parable of the Net

47 ‘Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a net that was thrown into the sea and caught fish of every kind; 48when it was full, they drew it ashore, sat down, and put the good into baskets but threw out the bad. 49So it will be at the end of the age. The angels will come out and separate the evil from the righteous 50and throw them into the furnace of fire, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

51 ‘Have you understood all this?’ They answered, ‘Yes.’ 52And he said to them, ‘Therefore every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven is like the master of a household who brings out of his treasure what is new and what is old.’

Babang Luksa Ni Nanay

Babang Luksa Ni Nanay

OFW & OEC?

OFW & OEC?

Overseas Foreign Workers (OFW) are require to avail an OEC (Overseas Employment Certificate) before they leave the Philippines.  Is an overseas worker really  need an OEC? This is the question I always asking myself every time I go for vacation. I think that we have paid enough to help our country through our remittances.

I agree with the article I have read. But I just only one of a million OFW that abiding the rules of our country. Nevertheless I just want to share with you the article:

Is an overseas employment certificate really needed?

Prospective overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) should not be required to get a departing clearance validation from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), a news portal said on Tuesday.

In an article, the Philippine Online Chronicles said the new requirement makes it “more difficult" for the migrant workers — who have buoyed the country’s economy — to leave the country.

In March, the POEA announced that all departing contract workers need to secure an overseas employment certificate (OEC) to help ensure “proper documentation and protection" of OFWs.

Sunday Gospel July 17- Parable of the Wheat

Sunday Gospel July 17- Parable of the Wheat

Parable of the Wheat - Matthew 13:24-43

He put before them another parable: “The kingdom of heaven may be compared to someone who sowed good seed in his field; but while everybody was asleep, an enemy came and sowed weeds among the wheat, and then went away. So when the plants came up and bore grain, then the weeds appeared as well. And the slaves of the householder came and said to him, ‘Master, did you not sow good seed in your field? Where, then, did these weeds come from?’ He answered, ‘An enemy has done this.’ The slaves said to him, ‘Then do you want us to go and gather them?’ But he replied, ‘No; for in gathering the weeds you would uproot the wheat along with them. Let both of them grow together until the harvest; and at harvest time I will tell the reapers, Collect the weeds first and bind them in bundles to be burned, but gather the wheat into my barn.’”
