"The Labor Ministry announced on Saturday that it would continue to accept applications from undocumented expats to legalize their status despite the end of the amnesty on Nov. 3. However, it insisted that such workers have to pay fines or face other penal measures for the delay in legalizing their status. Faisal Al-Otaibi, director-general of inspections at the ministry, also pointed out that it would not accept any request for exemptions from raids being carried out by the ministry and security officials to rid the country of labor law violators. “The correction process is continuing and those who want to legalize their status can do so through our electronic services and labor offices,” he said."

Nawaf Al-Bouq, spokesman for Jeddah Police, told Arab News: “Inspectors wear the official uniform and have identity cards to prove their designation. In addition, inspectors are not allowed inside private homes. “No cases have been reported yet, but our role is to warn people to be wary of such fraudsters. The Ministry of Labor will begin raids on Monday and there may be people taking advantage of the situation.” Social media networks are also circulating messages warning the public of fake inspectors from labor and passport offices. "Illegal workers who are not in possession of official documents will be considered for final exit provided their respective embassies certify their citizenship, Maj. Gen. Mansour Al-Turki, the Ministry of Interior’s spokesman, said on Sunday. Al-Turki was speaking at a joint press conference with Deputy Labor Minister Mufrej bin Saad Al-Haqbani to announce the end of the amnesty period from Monday. He said that expatriates to be considered for final exit should not have any criminal record and that these workers will not be able to come back to the Kingdom for employment in future since they will be fingerprinted at departure points. He said this arrangement has been made in response to requests from several embassies who say they do not have any documents to support the original entry of many of their citizens. Speaking with Arab News following the press conference, Al-Haqbani thanked foreign workers who have participated in the development of the Kingdom. "

Expatriate workers who have received their emergency certificates (ECs) from their embassies are in a hurry to leave on final exits to avoid a two-year jail term and a fine of SR100,000. Naseem Ahmad, an Indian worker, told Arab News: “I have taken my EC from the embassy and will go to the deportation center on Sunday to collect the exit paper to go back home.” Aijaz Cheema, a Pakistani, expressed concern that problems continue to crop up at various stages of the process and especially in recording biometric details, which he said is time-consuming. OFW & OEC?

OFW & OEC?

Overseas Foreign Workers (OFW) are require to avail an OEC (Overseas Employment Certificate) before they leave the Philippines.  Is an overseas worker really  need an OEC? This is the question I always asking myself every time I go for vacation. I think that we have paid enough to help our country through our remittances.

I agree with the article I have read. But I just only one of a million OFW that abiding the rules of our country. Nevertheless I just want to share with you the article:

Is an overseas employment certificate really needed?

Prospective overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) should not be required to get a departing clearance validation from the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), a news portal said on Tuesday.

In an article, the Philippine Online Chronicles said the new requirement makes it “more difficult" for the migrant workers — who have buoyed the country’s economy — to leave the country.

In March, the POEA announced that all departing contract workers need to secure an overseas employment certificate (OEC) to help ensure “proper documentation and protection" of OFWs.

Limang OFW Exit Visa Due To Saudization?

Limang OFW Exit Visa Due To Saudization?

Allow me to post some of them.

Passport Office-   Exit-re-entry Visas Switched to Exit-only Visas at Airports is Not True

DAMMAM: Rumors of expatriates having their exit-re-entry visas switched to exit-only visas at airports have no basis, said Passport Department officials across the Kingdom. “There is absolutely no truth to it,” said Mohammad Al-Husayn, spokesman for the Passport Department in Makkah province. “If it is an exit/re-entry visa then it cannot be changed at the airports. The final exit is stamped only after a series of steps are taken both by the employee and the employer.” The e-mails in circulation allege to have confirmed reports about two Indians (from Kerala) who were sent out on final exit despite having exit-re-entry visas.
