Mga kababayan meron na po bagong list of appointments ang Embassy On Wheels para sa Jan 27-28. REVISED List of appointments for Embassy on Wheels in Al-Khobar on 27-28 January 2011

As of 24 January 2011
Advisory No. 007 24
January 2011 UPDATE:

The Embassy will have 4 encoders, and therefore will accept all 600 passports applicants listed.

The Philippine Embassy in Riyadh announces that it has posted on its website a revised list of names of passport applicants with appointments for the Embassy on Wheels (EOW) in Al-Khobar on 27-28 January 2011.

Last Wednesday (19 January 2011), the Embassy posted on the website the list of appointments for passport processing during the EOW, but numerous feedback from passport applicants revealed that there had been a serious error in the computerized sorting of the EOW appointments, and thus the need to rectify the list.

The revised list of the 600 applicants will reflect the true sequence of the requests for appointment based of the dates when the Embassy received the e-mail or SMS (text). The Embassy apologizes for the inconvenience that the revised list will cause.

We are introducing the computerized appointment system for the first time, so we beg our kababayans’ indulgence on this matter.

For those who could not be accommodated and their passports have already expired or will expire in the following month, they are advised to request for passport extension (SR80). Those not on this list will be automatically scheduled for the EOW in February 2011.

Appointments needed for Embassy on Wheels service

DAMMAM: Starting this year, the consular outreach mission of the Philippines Embassy in Eastern Province, popularly known as the Embassy on Wheels (EOW), will be implementing an appointment system for its passport services.

The adoption of the appointment system, for applying or renewing passports, is meant to ensure Filipino workers do not have to queue at the venue 12 hours before the opening of the EOW.

PRESS RELEASE NO. -58-2010
18 November 2010

New Schedule of “Embassy on Wheels” in the Eastern Province

There will be two more “Embassy on Wheels” or EOW services in Al-Khobar and one in Jubail before the end of the year.
The EOW will be held at the International Philippine School in Al-Khobar on November 25-26 and December 16-17 with the usual cooperation and support of Filipino community leaders and volunteers from various organizations.

The venue for the EOW in Jubail on December 9-10 will be announced as soon as it is confirmed with the help of the Filipino community in Jubail.

In continuation of the new ePassport services started last month, the following arrangement will be observed at the EOW in Al-Khobar:
Date Time No. of ePassports
Nov. 25 THU 8:00AM – 5:00PM 200
Nov. 26 FRI 8:00AM – 12:00PM 150

About one hundred (100) pending ePassport applications from the previous EOW will be prioritized and added to the number to be encoded on Thursday, Nov. 25.

As previously announced, all ePassport applicants are required to appear before the consular staff to have their photos, signatures and finger prints taken, which means there is no need to bring any photos anymore. SR240.00 will be charged as ePassport fee.

To claim their new passports, applicants are once again reminded to bring their old passports and receipts. Representatives must present an authorization letter signed by the concerned applicant.
Because of present limitations in the number of ePassport applicants that can be fully served during the EOW, the Embassy advises those who do not need to renew their passports yet to consider postponing their application, and for those already scheduled to travel within one or two months to apply instead for the extension of the validity of their passports.

The Embassy is once more trying to expand the coverage of the EOW to places with large concentration of Filipinos and studying possible ways of making reservations or appointments for the EOWs in order to address the problem of long queues that usually form around the EOW venue hours before the opening of the service.

Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines

01 September 2010

04 September 2010

EOW for September Postponed

The Philippine Embassy today announced that it will have to postpone its consular outreach service or “Embassy on Wheels” (EOW) in Al-Khobar in the month of September upon receiving instruction from the Department of Foreign Affairs in Manila.

Through a circular from the Department, all Foreign Service Posts are informed that the Personalization Center for the Machine Readable Passport (MRP) will be transferred to the new Office of Consular Affairs Building on Macapagal Boulevard, cor. Bradco Avenue, Aseana Business Park, Paranaque City, in the third or fourth week of September.

For this reason, Embassies and Consulates are instructed to postpone mobile passport services for the issuance of MRP for the month of September.

The Embassy will make another announcement as early as possible on the next schedule of the EOW at the International Philippine School in Al-Khobar for October.

MRPs that are ready for release to the applicants may be claimed at the Embassy by presenting the old passport and proof of payment. An authorization letter is required in cases where the concerned applicant is not able to personally claim his or her new passport.

A facility for the extension of passport validity is also available at the Embassy for those who might run into an emergency that would require a valid passport. For more details, inquiries can be made through filembry@sbm.net.sa or the Embassy’s hot line number 01-4823559, especially during the Eid break. END
