Purpose 9 Our Goal is to make God smile.

Purpose 9 Our Goal is to ake God smile.
What makes God Smile?

During Noah's time only he can  made God sMILE. Because the entire worlld had become morally bunkrupt.

There are five acts of worship that make God Smile

  1. God Smiles when we Love him supremely. What God wants most from us is a relationship."I don't want your sacrifices-I want your love; I don't want your offering- I want you to know me" Hosea 6:6
  2. God Smiles when we Trust Him Completely.  Noah pleased God by trusting God. "By Faith, Noah built a ship in the middle of dry land. He was warned about something he couldn't see, and acted on what he was told...As a result,  Noah became intimate with God." Heb 11:7
  3. God Smiles when we Obey Him Wholeheartedly. Noah built a boat and saving all the animals according to God prescribed it. He obeyed God completely and he obeyed exactly. That is whole heartedness. Doing God will without hesitation. Most of the time we offer God Partial obedience.  Wholehearted obedience is done Joyfully, with enthusiasm.
  4. God Smiles when we Praise and Thank Him continually.  After surviving the flood, Noah first act was to express thanks to God by offering sacrifice. Because of Jesus sacrifice, we don't have to offer animal sacrifice. Instead we offer god sacrifice of praise (Heb 13:15) and sacrifice of thanks giving Ps116:17
  5. God Smiles when we use our Abilities. Every human activity, except sin, can be done for God pleasure if you do it with an attitude of praise. We don't bring glory or pleasure to God by hidding our abilities or trying to be someone else. Anything we reject any part of yourself, we are rejecting God's wisdom and sovereignty. Every act of enjoyment becomes an act of worship when we thank God for it.

Since God knows what is best, in what areas of life do we need to trust him most?

"The Lord is pleased with those who worship him and trust his love" Psalm 147:11

Salamat Po Nanay Sa Pagmamahal Na Inialay Mo

Salamat Po Nanay Sa Pagmamahal Na Inialay Mo

Wala an ako magawa kundi maicomfort sya sa phone at internet.

New Year's Traditions in Philippines

New Year's Traditions in Philippines

Filipinos have many customs and traditions during New Year's Eve. We have inherited from our ancestors, influenced by foreign settlers, words of mouth or commercialism.

Here are some of the practices...

Foods

On our table top, we usually prepare 12 kinds fruit. Rounded fruits is preferable. Three bowls fill with rice, salt and cotton. Each one have some coins on top. A pack of Fiesta Hams. A red Keso De Bola. Some sweets, buko pandan, buko salad and fruit salads. Plus other mouth watering dishes.

Dress

To attract money for the coming year, you should wear Polka Dots dress or shirt.

To Do

If you wish to gain extra height, you must jump as high as you could.

You keep on smiling and be happy. It is nice to start the year with jolly heart.

Make your New Year's resolutions.

Drive away bad spirit and bad luck. Here are some practices that we got from the Chinese.

Sprinkling of rice and salt around the house. Make noise in and out of the house with cymbals, trumpets and drums. And the most awaited event is the fireworks.

The best seller firecrackers are Judas belt, sawa, fountains, super lolo, bawang, crying cow and more. For cheaper and safety, it is advisable to use "lusis, labintador or watusi".

To avoid any kind of accidents, some local officials have designated firecrackers zone. Specially in some congested and slum areas. They event organized a party or concert. And then followed by colorful and majestic fireworks display as the New Year strike.

After the the festive celebration. Families are gather around in order to give grace and have a midnight meal or medya noche. It is a belief that family member should stay together before the separation of year. Well this will be an exemption for Expats like us.

Some of the faithful Christians prefer to attend the church service instead of enjoying the firecrackers and party.

These traditions are the manifestation of our imagination. Other said its a pagans practices. In general, it's just for fun in order to have a joyful celebration. For whatever reasons. We must not put our fate in such traditions. But instead focus on our life and have faith in the Lord. Work out for our success.

We can do all things through Christ Jesus!

Happy New Year to Everyone!

Eight Days Before Christmas - Misa de Gallo or Midnight Mass

Eight Days Before Christmas - Misa de Gallo or Midnight Mass

8 Days na lang at Christmas na. Kaya gusto kong mag countdown by counting the Filipino customs and traditions during this Holiday seasons. My fifth item "Misa de Gallo or Midnight Mass."

Simbang Gabi Song

Simbang gabi simula ng pakso
Sa puso ng lahing pilipino
Siyam na gabi kaming gumigising
Sa tugtog ng kampanang walang tigil
Ding dong ding dong ding

Maaga kami kinabukasan
Lalakad kaming langkay-langkay
Babatiin ang ninong at ninang
Ng maligayang pasko po
At hahalik ng kamay

Lahat kami'y masayang-masaya

Ding dong ding dong ding

Jesus is Better Than Santa

Dear Friends,

I know it's early but I want to be the first to greet you. Just received this message and I glad to share it with you.

Jesus is Better than Santa

Santa lives at the North Pole.

JESUS is everywhere.

Santa rides in a sleigh

JESUS rides on the wind and walks on the water.

Santa comes but once a year

JESUS is an ever present help.

Santa fills your stockings with goodies

JESUS supplies all your needs.

Santa comes down your chimney uninvited

JESUS stands at your door and knocks.. and then enters your heart.

You have to stand in line to see Santa

JESUS is as close as the mention of His name.

Santa lets you sit on his lap

JESUS lets you rest in His arms.

Santa doesn't know your name, all he can say is "Hi little boy or girl, What's your name?"

JESUS knew our name before we did. Not only does He know our name, He knows our address too. He knows our history and future and He even knows how many hairs are on our heads.

Santa has a belly like a bowl full of jelly

JESUS has a heart full of love.

All Santa can offer is HO HO HO

JESUS offers health, help and hope.

Santa says "You better not cry"

JESUS says "Cast all your cares on me for I care for you.

Santa's little helpers make toys

JESUS makes new life, mends wounded hearts, repairs broken homes and builds mansions.

Santa may make you chuckle but

JESUS gives you joy that is your strength..

While Santa puts gifts under your tree

JESUS became our gift and died on the tree.

It's obvious there is really no comparison.

We need to remember WHO Christmas is all about.

We need to put Christ back in Christmas.

Jesus is still the reason for the season.

May the Lord Bless and Watch over you and your loved ones this Christmas 2009

And may He prosper and bless the work of your hands in the New Year.

Eid Mubarak To You!

Eid Mubarak To You!

Eid Ul Fitr is a Muslim Holiday that marks the end of Ramadan. Often it is abbreviated TO Eid. An Arabic word Eid means festivity while Fitr to break the fast. This holiday symbolizes the breaking of month long of fasting. It celebrated in the last month of Islamic Ramadan and first day of Shaawaal. The end of Holy Month of Ramadan occurs when the new moon of Shaawaal is sighted.

There are two Muslim holidays that celebrate according to the Islamic Faith.
Eid Ul Fitr comes after the Ramadan and Eid Al Adha is after the the complition of Hajj,or pilgrim to Makka.

Unlike the other holidays such as Christmas, exchange gift is not in their practice. On this day Muslim show their real joy for the health, strength, and the opportunities of life. There are some general practices that the Muslim do:

Wake up early
They prepare for the personal hygiene
Wear their best cloths, weather it new or old
Eat their breakfast on Eid Ul Fitr before leaving for prayer ground
Give charity to the poor or Zakaat Al Fitr
Offer Salaat al Eid in congregation
Use two separate routeto and from the prayer ground
Recite the Takbir on the way to Salaat and until the beginning of Salaat al Eid.

I am not a Muslim but I want to share this Special Holiday with our Muslim brothers and sisters. I personally admire their disciplines during this Ramadan, their fasting and prayers. May the Love, peace and joy be with you all!

I wish our Muslim brothers & sister a very Happy Holiday.
Eid Mubarak!

Bagong-Saltang Kaluluwa

Bagong-Saltang Kaluluwa
(Author Unknown)

But we will thank the LORD now and forever. Hallelujah!

Giving Thanks With Gifts This Thanksgiving

Giving Thanks With Gifts This Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is a beautiful time for gift giving! Thanksgiving is a time of reflection and gratitude that most share with loved ones.

This is a peaceful time that is centered around family, friends, and food. Stuffing yourself with turkey each year with those you love most is a sign of appreciation and reflection, forcing you to give thanks for what you have and thinking about how appreciated it really is. Giving thanks for what you have can involve deep thought, prayer, love, and giving thanks to others. Giving thanks to others is achieved by hugs, long talks and most notably, gifts. These gifts signify your feelings and your appreciation for the recipient and are a sign that you have been thinking about them all year and they are appreciated.

While giving thanks this year one should think about everything he or she has to be thankful for. This is a great time to reflect on the past years events and connect with yourself once again. Being away from the daily hustle and bustle, celebrating and eating with loved ones gives you a day to clear your head and think about things that normally slip your mind. This downtime gives you a clear view of where you are and how you got there. Giving thanks for what you have and the people who help you is a special time in that it allows you to give somebody praise that you would normally overlook. Whether it be your sibling who has helped you out financially or spiritually or a person that made you smile during your day, you should go out of your way to do something special for them on this thankful holiday.

Thanksgiving is a holiday built around giving, so what better way to celebrate than with a gift. Gift giving is a productive way to express your thoughts and feelings to others. Giving a person a gift makes them feel special knowing that you spend your precious time and hard earned money on them. Presenting somebody with a gift also is a great way to express something that is hard to say in words. It is not easy to verbally communicate your appreciation and love for another person, but with a gift, you can let your actions do the talking.

Choosing the right gift for Thanksgiving can be as simple as you want it to be. You can send candy, food, clothing, or a relaxing spa gift basket to your recipient to express your thankfulness and appreciation. Sending a gift let the other person know that they are not forgotten and they are appreciated even if you do not see each other on a regular basis. This Thanksgiving don't let the time slip away any longer, seek out the perfect gift and let that special someone know that they are appreciated and loved on this joyous occasion.

The right gift for you may be a nice spa gift basket that will let your recipient relax and reflect during this busy time of year. An Italian food gift basket is a gift that lets the recipient know that they are appreciated, and it is time to celebrate! Also a gourmet food gift basket will make them feel right at home no matter where they are. If you want to give thanks to a soldier, a military care package will get the message across and make that soldier know they are appreciated during this rough time. Whichever gift you may choose to send this thanksgiving, your recipient will know that they are appreciated and you have been thinking about them during this hectic year.
